1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Localé (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Localé is a city guide application that provides AI-generated, locally-curated recommendations across categories such as coffee, food, markets, art, and nightlife. Recommendations are generated using AI and cross-checked where possible against third-party location data (Google Places), but accuracy is not guaranteed.
3. No Subscription, No In-App Purchases
Localé does not currently offer paid subscriptions or in-app purchases. Some outbound links to third-party services are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission on bookings or purchases made through them, at no additional cost to you.
4. Accuracy Disclaimer
Information in the App, including venue existence, opening hours, pricing, and availability, may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. Always verify details directly with the venue or service before relying on them, particularly for time-sensitive plans.
5. AI-Generated Content and Translation
Recommendations are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence and may contain errors or unexpected results. App content may also be automatically translated by AI into other languages; translations may contain errors, and the English version prevails where there is a difference. We do not guarantee the suitability, safety, or quality of any third-party venue or service recommended.
6. User Conduct
You agree to use the App lawfully and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt the App or its underlying services.
7. User-Submitted Content (Explorer Tips and City Impressions)
The App lets you submit two kinds of content that, if approved, are shown to other users: local tips, and your answer to “What do you love about this city?”. Both are clearly marked in the App as being shared with other travellers before you submit. By submitting either:
- You confirm it is your own work, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and does not contain unlawful, infringing, promotional, or personal information.
- You retain ownership of your submission, but grant Localé a worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, edit, translate, and adapt it within the App and related services, including adding editorial notes such as venue verification. Editorial notes are added only to local tips; answers about what you love about a city are published in your own words, with at most a map link to any place you name.
- You accept that all submissions are moderated: we may reject, edit, or remove any submission at any time without notice, and we are under no obligation to publish anything you send.
Any submission shown in the App can be reported by any user; reported content is hidden immediately pending review.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, branding, and underlying content (excluding third-party data), is owned by Stuart Cioccarelli and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The App contains links to third-party websites and services we do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those third parties.
10. Termination
We may suspend or discontinue the App, in whole or in part, at any time without notice.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Localé and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including reliance on AI-generated or third-party content.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
